I recently bought a new camera, as a back up to my Canon. I decided to have a practice with a Bridal shoot before the wedding I shot last week in Exeter, just to get a feel how it would work. To start with, I can’t believe how easy it is to use. It’s very small and unobtrusive in comparison to the Canon, which is sometimes great for weddings as I find guests can become very shy when there is a large camera pointing at them. The shots below were taken at the New Continental Hotel in Plymouth. It worked out well as I needed to photograph some wedding dresses for Something Borrowed – Claire has some amazing dresses for hire, which is a popular choice for many brides. Anyway, going back to the camera – I was totally amazed with the results it produced from the shoot, I’m sure you will agree.

I love this shot, how the lighting falls on the Brides face creating lovely shadows. It gives the photo great depth and it makes me wonder what she is thinking

I really like using window light, you can get some great result, as seen here.
Window light is something I love using. It give can give some truly delightful results, as seen here.
There was a flat screen TV on the wall and I noticed the Brides reflection. After making the room very dark and allowing a little light in through the window. These to photos are very similar in some ways but have very different emotions.
You’d be amazed with what you can find in a room that can help create striking photos . Making the room very dark and allowing a little light in through the window really emphasise Shannon’s reflection in the wall mounted TV screen. These two photos are very similar in some ways but suggest very different emotions.

Again, this is just using the window as my main source of light. This is one of the first shots I took, I was trying to get the Bride to relax by making her play with her hair, and it turned out to be a great shot.
