New Barton Barns Wedding | Hollie & Isaac
Hollie and Isaac are the kind of couple who have an infectious happiness about them. I said when I photographed their pre-wedding portrait shoot that we were going to enjoy covering their wedding when it came around. We definitely did and it was in no small part due to that happiness of theirs. It was another of those days for us where we get to cover a great wedding in a couple of new locations: The Plantation House in Ermington for Isaac getting ready with his family, Mutley Baptist Church in Plymouth for their ceremony and the lovely New Barton Barns near Wembury for the reception.
The Plantation House is a great exclusive location which Isaac and his family had stayed at the night before the wedding. It’s quite a small venue but more than comfortable for this family get-together before what was going to be a wonderful day.
Mutley Baptist Church is not a small venue and I have been there quite a few times before, when my daughter took part in her schools Christmas show. So, although I knew the venue it was the first time David and I had covered a Baptist wedding service. What was clear from the outset was the great love these people had for their faith, with some touching moments during the service we had not witnessed before. After all that and with the weather closing in everyone hopped into their vehicles and made off for New Barton Barns out towards the Wembury coast.
David and I followed behind Hollie and Isaac in their silver Volkswagen beetle (way cool!) on the way into New Barton and we drove past an open gate into a field. Apparently at that point they made the same exclamation we did as we all saw the poppies in bloom in the field. Its always rewarding when your bride and groom are on the same wavelength as you, which is why we came away with some cracking shots of the two of them in the field of poppies. Just in time too as well really, because by the time we finished and got to the reception venue the fog had closed in so much that you could not see 20ft in front of you.
The rest of the day was a blast with two best men giving good account during their speeches, a few heartfelt words from Isaac to his father who had travelled a considerable distance to be there and a great finish with (for us) some truly beautiful first dance pictures.
So, without further ado, we present for your delight Hollie and Isaac Chung.
