When I first picked up a camera I really wanted to take picture of the landscape around me. Living in the southwest is a great back drop for this. Like most people, I didn’t have a clue what do, how to compose the photo, the lighting etc. After buying a few books, I soon picked it up. This is when I fell in love with photography. Over the years my photography has evolved, I still love taking photos of the landscape around me – which can see from below, but know I have a love for photographing people.
Below is a selection of photos I have taken over the year, mainly of Cornwall and Devon. Hope you like them 🙂
The 2 photos below are from a place called Minions in Cornwall. Amy and I spent a lot of time there walking dogs (not ours, normally her sisters). There are some amazing views across both Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor. Oh…. also there is a great pub (the highest in Cornwall) that does great food and has an amazing log fire!
I’ve alway liked to surf. The 3 photos below are a little different from your normal surfing photo (which I always imagine to be on a big wave) These are the surfers are about to enter the sea, looking for the best area to paddle out, where the best breaks are.
I was highly commended in the the first landscape photographer of the year! It was also in the published in the book. The judges love the unusual compositon of the photo.
